The next time someone hands you a business card, don’t assume you can add them to your newsletter list.  You can’t.  Well, you can.  But it’s going to land you in hot water!  Current anti-spam and privacy regulations are clear – ASK for permission to add their email address to your ezine list.  Make a note on the business card where you were when you obtained the contact’s permission, and note the date too.  Legislation is undergoing changes, it’s getting tougher and penalties are going to be severe.
