What I hired Bonnie for, and what I received, were two different things!
About four years ago, I hired Bonnie to do word-processing and powerpoint; to bring a quality standard to our handouts for the classroom ... and she did do that well. Because she was a 'virtual assistant' , I did not need to invest in additional office space or purchase equipment, so it allowed me to continue to invest our profits directly in our growth.
The surprise, and the part I have appreciated the most, has been Bonnie's patient, but relentless, determination to educate me as to what I need to let go of as we continue to grow. She is able to look at our organization from a strategic perspective and make recommendations that result in increased efficiency and effectiveness in my role as President. Sometimes she's making technology recommendations, other times it may be marketing ideas, but it's always focused on how we can move forward faster with ease. Her ideas are sharper because she's looking from the outside in, but with some knowledge of our specific business.
She remains our Virtual Assistant, but also our coach, consultant and success partner.

Bonnie joined the AEA board (Alberta Entrepreneurs Association) as the first Events Co-ordinator.
